Some stories ask to be approached quietly. This series, made for the book "En mis memorias se encierran los valores de mi tierra", came out of several visits to La Gomera and time spent with Isidro Ortiz Mendoza, one of the people keeping Silbo Gomero alive through practice and teaching. More than a documentary exercise, it became an intimate portrait — of a place, a language, and the quiet ways identity passes from one person to another.
