Perfiles: Lucía Pitters
Personal
2025
This session is part of "Perfiles", a personal project in which I photograph people in their everyday environments—whether intimate or work-related—with the intention of getting to know them a little better and understanding how they live what they devote their time and energy to. On this occasion, I visited Lucía Pitters at her home on a quiet, cloudy Sunday. The session began slowly, with conversations about cinema, an aperitif of vermouth and some Greek sweets to accompany our tea. From there, the photographs emerged naturally, following the light that filtered through the clouds and finally letting ourselves be carried away by the rain. I had known Lucía's work for years, probably since the days of Flickr, when her self-portraits and her way of constructing images began to influence my own way of experimenting with photography. Today, in addition to developing her artistic practice, she works as a teacher of Photography and Digital Imaging, introducing her students to a sensitive approach to the medium. The images are accompanied by a short written interview in which we talk about identity, memory and photographic processes. A recurring idea emerges in her answers: letting time intervene in the images and allowing projects to rest before finding their final form.
