Perfiles: Miri and Joan

Personal

2025

This session is part of ‘Perfiles’, a personal project in which I photograph people in their everyday environments — whether intimate or work-related — with the intention of getting to know them a little better and understanding how they live and develop what they create. On this occasion, I visited Miri, the driving force behind “Isla Macadamia”, a space born out of a love for textiles, art and creativity, which over time has also become a meeting place for creating and sharing. The session also features Joan, her partner and constant support, as well as Bruno, her son, who moves freely among the materials, the corners of the house and the session itself. The photographs are accompanied by a short written interview in which we talk about creativity, processes and how sharing ideas —and observing the world through the curious eyes of a child— can transform the way we create. “Perfiles” proposes a leisurely approach to people, their spaces and what happens when a conversation is opened and time is allowed for observation.
